We are delighted to share that our Founding President, Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah BSc (Hons) LLB (Lond.), who is also a Working Group Member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) in Bangladesh representing the BSAA - Bangladesh Shipping Agents' Association (BSAA) and Interport Maritime Ltd., recently visited MACN’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. During his visit, he updated them on the positive developments in Bangladesh, assisting foreign ship owners and operators facing integrity challenges at Bangladeshi ports. He also shared success stories of corruption issues being proactively addressed through the collaborative efforts of MACN Bangladesh, local authorities, and stakeholders.
YoungShip Bangladesh plans to hold an interactive workshop with MACN Bangladesh soon to align its members and young leaders in the shipping industry with MACN’s mission. Since its inception in 2021, MACN Bangladesh has been undertaking significant work to combat corruption. Engaging the next generation of maritime leaders is crucial, as they will shape the future of the sector. It is up to us youth to foster a sustainable, ethical, and bright future for the maritime sector globally!
