TANJIL AHMED

THE JOURNEY SO FAR
From growing up at sea with my father, a respected Master Mariner, to leading Interport Group today, my journey has always been anchored in the maritime industry. I am passionate about connecting people, fostering innovation, and driving ethical, efficient shipping practices.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
My journey has been one of constant learning, setbacks, reflection and growth, from starting as a junior executive in our family business to leading a dynamic team of leaders. As we approach our 25 years, I’m grateful to be part of an organisation with integrity at its core and continuous learning, over-communication, service excellence and innovation as its pillars!
SHAPING FUTURE PATHWAYS
Through my leadership roles at Bangladesh Shipping Agents Association (BSAA), Global Chamber Dhaka, and Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) Bangladesh, I endeavour to play a part in shaping a maritime industry that is sustainable, innovative, and forward-looking.
NURTURING NEW TALENT
With global platforms like YoungShip Bangladesh and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) Bangladesh, I actively mentor and share knowledge with the next generation leaders in the maritime sector
Beyond Work
A lifelong love for football—where teamwork, strategy, and leadership mirror my professional journey. Off the field, I also find a lot of peace in getting lost in a good book or unwinding to a great piece of music, with a good cup of coffee.

"MACN’s incident data transforms our role from a reactive Ship Agent to a proactive partner; by knowing where and when challenges are most likely to arise, we can help shipowners prepare, and in many cases, prevent corruption-related incidents entirely." – Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah FCILT BSc (Hons) LLB (Lond.), Managing Director, Interport Group
