It was an honour and privilege to serve as a Judge for the debate competition on Sustainability Day 2023 organised by UN Global Compact Network in Bangladesh on the topic “Is whistleblowing an ethical duty, even if it means breaching confidentiality agreements?”

The debate featured 6 participants from two universities: Independent University, Bangladesh and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. The university debaters showcased their eloquence and critical thinking skills on such a current issue. While hearing the arguments was very rewarding, picking the winning team was quite an arduous task!

Kudos to both the teams for showcasing their intellectual capacity on such a topical issue and special thanks to Juliana Awo Quist Lawson of UNGCB for the gracious invite!

It was a meaningful and thought-provoking experience. Engaging the next generation in discussions on ethical dilemmas like whistleblowing is crucial for fostering awareness and critical thinking for building a culture of integrity!
