Very pleased to have completed this 3-days course (1st online batch) on Blockchain Fundamentals and Applications for Maritime professionals organised by the The Nautical Institute in association with Navozyme™. This course took a deeper dive into the subject of Blockchain and how the power of this technology can be harnessed into any scenario where multiple parties have to exchange a plethora of information in order to achieve an overarching goal, for example the shipping of goods. It also discussed the concept of smart contracts which will gradually become pervasive in the wider maritime industry. Being a Marine Claims Handler and P&I Correspondent, I am particularly excited at the potential benefits of the technology for the insurance industry which extend to both claims handling and underwriting/risk assessment.
